Spectacularly Simple and Healthy Mayonnaise!

STOP buying mayonnaise from the grocery store!

While we are not fans of most mayo available at the grocery store because of the horrible vegetable oils and other ingredients, we love making our own and this version is so quick and easy!


We find an immersion blender to be the easiest tool to whip this into perfection, but any food processor will work. We prefer high-quality, organic olive oil, but you can also use a high-quality avocado oil if you prefer a milder taste.


1 cup olive oil (Carapelli is our favorite!)

1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk

1 Tbsp white wine vinegar

1 Tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tsp fresh lemon juice

1/2 tsp sea salt


Combine all ingredients into a food processor or glass jar if using an immersion blender. Blend on medium speed for 20-30 seconds. That's it! Done! Refrigerate and use up in 1-2 weeks.

Thank you for this recipe! I have recently been reading about all the bad things about Canola oil (that I once thought was a healthy choice) and am trying to eradicate it from our diet. I purchased some Chosen Foods avocado mayo but would like to cut costs by making my own. I am looking forward to trying this recipe.
